Salary: Band 12, £49,497 to £53,658 per annum

The Service:
Portsmouth Legal Services is a friendly hardworking and dedicated team of approximately 40 lawyers and assistant staff who provide commercial and litigation support to the Council departments. We are committed to ensuring an excellent service in all aspects of our work.
Your New Role:
You will provide quality advice and support to all departments of the Council on a wide range of matters relating to procurement, commercial, companies and local government law. You will have your own case load consisting of a variety of projects, procurement and contract matters, primarily (but not exclusively) relating to Portsmouth City Council owned companies. You will assist or lead colleagues and develop knowledge in other areas including PFI contracts, procurement, contracts, projects and public/administrative law.

What you'll need to succeed:
You have experience of preparing all necessary legal documentation in respect of companies' administration using precedent documentation. You can work on complex matters and can demonstrate an interest in developing inter-disciplinary legal skills. You have excellent organisations and communication skills, and can identify legal problems and provide pragmatic solutions. You are a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX.
