Primary SEMH Teacher- Boston

Milk Education are in partnership with an SEMH Independent school in Boston, Lincolnshire who are seeking to employ a strong year 5/6 teacher with experience of catering to students with SEMH needs. This school is committed to motivating, supporting and inspiring pupils to re-engage with their education.
The class teacher role will be working closely with SLT to provide a broad and balanced education that goes beyond the academic, and aims to develop the whole person – responsible, reflective young people that are able to fulfil their potential. The classes will be small groups of around 3-5 children.
Class Teacher duties & responsibilities:
· Have a good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
· Have high expectations of children and young people including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential and to establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them.
· Hold positive values and attitudes and adopt high standards of behaviour in their professional role.
· To organise the classroom, its resources, pupil groupings and displays in order to provide a stimulating learning environment.
· Manage the learning of individuals, groups and whole classes effectively, modifying their teaching appropriately to suit the stage of the lesson and the needs of the learners.
· To attend Reviews and Case Conferences when required, mainly during school hours, but sometimes out of school hours.
Class Teacher Non-Negotiables:
· Qualified Teacher Status
· Successful teaching experience across key stages 2 & 3, within a SEND/SEMH school
· Knowledge of the National Curriculum
· Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies.
· Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing when working with children, and when communicating with parents, other staff and governors where appropriate.
