I currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Civil Structural Engineer to join an extremely reputable, successful and growing business where your achievements and commitment will be appreciated and rewarded.
With multiple offices across the UK, this client is a innovative, forward thinking Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy working on a wide variety of projects within railway infrastructure, buildings, temporary works, bridges and geotechnics.
You'll join a tight-knit team in a relaxed office, working with other offices and teams across different projects.
The role would suit someone with a background in structural design and the ability to understand the requirement for permanent and temporary works design to support our engineering teams and main contractors with solving their construction difficulties.
Key responsibilities for this Principal Civil Structural Engineer role:
- Leading and managing a team of Engineers and Technicians, including mentoring, coaching and training.
- Take ownership of own projects across varying schemes.
- Carry out inspections, site surveys and assessments of structures and preparing reports.
- Overseeing the design of civil and structural schemes and checking designs prepared by others, including detailed calculations by hand or through computer models.
- Liaising with clients to verify project scope and ensure deliverables.
- Meeting with clients to promote the skills the company provide.
- Development of new work opportunities.
- Development of the team, including interviewing an resourcing.
Key requirements for this Principal Civil Structural Engineer role:
- Relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
- Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or IStructE)
- 7 - 15 years' experience within UK engineering industry.
- Experience leading and developing a team of Engineers
- Experience within the Rail or Civils industry
- Strong commercial awareness
- Considerable project management experience across buildings, bridges and temporary works, with drive and a proven record to meeting targets
- Strong technical knowledge within assessment and design including inspections, calculations and analysis of existing structures and new build design development.
- Full driving licence and own transport.
- Client focused approach with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Package on offer for this Principal Civil Structural Engineer Role:
- Salary upto £60,000
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off.
