Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Residential Worker to work full time based in a Children’s home in Medway, Kent.
The salary for this permanent Children’s Senior Residential Worker job is up to £32,723.
Main Duties:
* Assist in the management, development, and delivery of services to children and young people in accordance with safeguarding and caring regulations.
* Lead shifts in the home, allocating tasks and areas of responsibility whilst on shift, ensuring records are completed and that there is a comprehensive handover.
* Deputise in the absence of the registered manager or deputy.
* Lead, manage and motivate staff, ensuring high quality professional supervision and performance development plans are completed which enhance individuals personal and professional development needs and contribute towards the outcomes delivered for children and young people.
* Ensure that services are delivered to the required standards and in accordance with safeguarding and caring regulations.
* Ensure records of incidents are completed promptly and accurately.
* Contribute to the day to day care of the children and young people including providing personal, health, social and domestic care in accordance with their care plans.
* Liaise with service users and families/carers, compiling records of actions and observations, to ensure needs are met through communication and building strong relationships.
* Ensure all information relating to Children and Young People is accurate and up-to-date and that essential record keeping is completed by staff at the end of shift.
* Maintain accurate records of progress towards the achievement of agreed goals for Children and Young People.
* Administer and record the signing in and out of all medication and always ensure the safe storage of medication in line with the home’s policy.
Requirements of this job:
* Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent.
* Experience working within Children’s residential care.
* Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and the Care Act (2000).
* Knowledge of the development needs of children and young people.
* Ability to show leadership skills.
* Experience of managing budgets.
* Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections.
