We are seeking an IT Environment Engineer to join our Technology function and support our clients. This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to grow and develop their skills and progress their career. This role should be completed in a hybrid way, spending 1 day a week on client site in Central London.
Key Responsibilities
* Provision, configure, and maintain IT environments for production and non-production.
* Ensure consistency between environments to reduce deployment and release risks.
* Automate and streamline provisioning and configuration with DevOps Engineers.
* Manage cloud and on-premise infrastructure for availability and optimisation.
* Optimise configuration, resource utilisation, and Azure cloud costs.
* Implement and maintain configuration management tools.
* Collaborate with DevOps Engineers to support automation and reduce manual intervention.
* Maintain version-controlled environment configuration.
* Support access control management with security teams.
* Maintain and update the CMDB regularly.
* Define and track performance metrics to quickly identify and resolve issues, support post-implementation reviews for continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
* Provide guidance on Change, Environment, and Release governance frameworks and processes.
Skills & Experience
* Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
* Proficiency in Azure Cloud platforms and native services.
* Technical skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and BICEP.
* Experience in scripting and automation, specifically with PowerShell.
* Familiarity with environment processes, governance frameworks, and configuration management.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills; proactive in asking questions and facilitating discussions.
* Technically minded with a strong attitude to learn.
