Friendship Public Charter School operates a network of college-preparatory public charter schools, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Responsibilities
* Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations for students as requested or warranted.
* Act as an interdisciplinary team member in the special education eligibility process, administering Speech and Language assessments as required.
* Articulate test results to parents and MDT members in clear, understandable language attending to cultural sensitivity.
* Deliver group and individual therapy sessions as indicated on student IEPs.
* Maintain monthly progress notes as required by Medicaid regulations.
* Make recommendations for purchasing assessment materials to ensure that the clinical is adequately equipped with state-of-the-art resources.
* Keep abreast of advances in diagnostic materials.
* Maintain compliant IEPs, including contact logs and report progress accordingly to parents and team members.
Qualifications
* Experience in the role preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred).
* Must possess both of the following:
o Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
o DC Department of Health Speech Language Pathology license.
