Main duties of the job
The Role
As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of the CEO's office, providing strategic support, and driving key initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
7. Strategic Support: Assisting the CEO in day-to-day operations and long-term planning, ensuring the delivery of the Trust's vision and strategic goals.
8. Leadership and Collaboration: Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with the Executive Leadership Team, Non-Executive Directors, and external stakeholders to navigate complex challenges and drive organisational success.
9. Project Management: Steering and coordinating high-impact projects that align with the Trust's priorities, ensuring successful execution and alignment with local and national healthcare initiatives.
10. Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as a key liaison for the CEO, managing communications and relationships across the wider NHS system, and ensuring consistent, high-quality interaction with all stakeholders.

Qualifications
Essential
21. Masters level qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through either formal training and accreditation or acquisition of additional theoretical or conceptual knowledge
22. Demonstrable experience of building, maintaining and utilising successful partnerships across a range of stakeholders
23. Understanding of the strategic context of the NHS and wider health and social care environment
24. Experience of delivery as SRO on large programs of work
25. Experience of mobilising resources effectively to support complex organisation through significant change
26. Evidence of successfully handling sensitive situations efficiently and confidentially
27. Ability to inspire and motivate clinical, operational and support staff
28. Experience in preparation of management and board level reports
29. Extensive experience of working at a senior level in a large and complex organisation
30. Strong analytical skills with the ability to make effective judgements involving highly complex and multistranded facts or situations which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options
31. Excellent communication skills - clarity, persuasiveness, sensitivity, facilitation
32. Ability to work independently, prioritise and judge when issues should be escalated on own behalf and that of CEO and Board
