This is an exciting time to join the Service Development Team within Environment, Housing and Infrastructure to support operational services with governance processes and procedures, ensuring that version control, process mapping and auditing requirements are in place across the Department.
This role will support a wide range of information governance work including records management, information asset registers (IARs) and data protection arrangements ensuring ongoing high standards and continue to meet statutory obligations, monitoring and reporting in line with the Council's policies and procedures.
Working closely with Service Managers, you will support services to collate and analyse a range of information, prepare responses to enquiries, Freedom of Information (FoI) and Subject Access Requests (SAR), and assist with work around insurance and accident claims.
You will be confident working with complex data sets and be able to analyse and apply that knowledge to provide the evidence to support decision making and provide a range of visual aids to present this information to support ongoing service improvement work.
A minimum of an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, equivalent experience, or ability to work towards qualification is essential together with relevant knowledge and experience of wider information governance and data protection areas. You will need experience of working with different partners and customers, delivering, and leading a range of administrative tasks to support performance and improvement.
It is essential you have effective problem solving, organisation, customer service and time management skills and an ability to multi-task. You will be confident maintaining complex data sets. Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak to, and advise, a wide range of stakeholders across a range of services is essential.
You must be able to work to deadlines and quality standards with a positive attitude to change and have IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent and be keen to learn new applications and technology.
With an ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple demands, you will have supported the delivery of projects within agreed timescales and can bring this experience to support and implement change, influencing and working well with a wide range of colleagues across multiple services within this role.
Experience of dealing with Elected Members and Senior Officers as well as the ability to demonstrate effective leadership and development skills is also essential.
Experience of developing complex processes, procedures and driving efficiencies within service areas and an ability to analyse and present management information is desirable.
