About the Mechanical Design Engineer Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for working with customers to plan and deliver design, engineering, and innovation for all products.
Other responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer will include:
* Work with the interpretation of customer requirements relating to mechanical/electro-mechanical systems within a product
* Communicate and present design ideas and solutions to customers and colleagues
* Proactively resolve problems within project time & budgets to robustly meet ESO (Engineering Services Outsourcing).
* Design and development of mechanical/electro-mechanical systems using the relevant computer aided engineering (CAE) tools, Design release methodologies, DFMEA principles, and DFM etc.
* Support the Solutions Architecture team in carrying out feasibility studies for technical innovations
* Support the Pilot Manufacturing team in introducing a product into serial production
* Prepare technical documentation; specifications, schematics, drawings, BoM’s, design reports, risk assessments, etc.
* Identify and communicate potential gaps/opportunities in product, process, technology, etc.
About You
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a capable Engineer with demonstrable experience managing projects from concept to delivery. You will have proven experience of conceptual design and release for designing and developing complete products and components at pace.
You will be adaptable and agile in your approach with a positive “can-do” attitude. You will have the ability to analyse complex problems, identify root cause, and assess possible solutions.
Other requirements include:
* Strong Degree in an Engineering discipline
* Experience with Autodesk suite of products
* Knowledge of / experience with interpretation of mathematical modelling packages e.g. ANSYS
* Proven experience of operating in a diverse range of industries/sectors
