We have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Support Worker to join our adult services programme based in Southbourne.
The role:
Aspire in Southbourne supports our seven residents going through the transition in life from living at home to living independently in one way or another. You could be supporting with preparing food, laundry, weekly food shopping/ monitoring healthy eating options, providing advice about work placements and day to day colleague interaction, day trips into the forest, attending workshops and clubs, cake tasting in local cafes or going to watch the football in the Brewhouse. The options are endless!
This role would really suit someone that has a warm but attentive nature, is fit and able to be on their feet a lot of the time, and has a passion for promoting independence for the people we support.
Working hours:
Week 1 - Wednesday 3pm - 10pm and Friday 4pm - 10pm (+ sleep In)
Week 2 - Monday - 3pm - 10pm, Thursday - 3pm - 10pm, Saturday - 3pm - 10pm & Sunday 12pm - 10pm
A support worker's day would include:
1. Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
2. Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments, and medication
3. Following the support plan in place for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on changes in behaviour
4. Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bathe and wash, medication
