Involve Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer with a strong background in structural steel and steel frame to join our team on a prestigious, large-scale industrial project in South Wales. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate installation and quality control of the steel frame and structural steel elements of the project. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to contribute to the successful completion of a high-profile construction project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the installation and erection of structural steel and steel frame elements on-site.
2. Ensure all steel frame works are executed accurately and meet project specifications, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
3. Collaborate with the design and project teams to interpret structural drawings and plans, ensuring that all construction processes align with the design.
4. Monitor site progress and coordinate the delivery and installation of steel components to ensure efficient and timely work.
5. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to the on-site team, ensuring that any issues are identified and resolved promptly.
7. Maintain accurate records of work completed, including steel fabrication, installation, and any variations or changes to the original design.
8. Ensure that all required documentation, including inspection reports, method statements, and risk assessments, are completed in a timely manner.
9. Work closely with the Site Manager and other project stakeholders to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
10. Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to coordinate activities and ensure seamless delivery of work packages.
11. Assist with snagging and the final handover of the project, ensuring all structural steel work is completed to the highest standard.
About You:
1. Proven experience as a Site Engineer, specifically with structural steel and steel frame on large-scale industrial or commercial projects.
2. A strong career history with long-term employment at previous companies and no history of job-hopping; we are seeking a committed professional with a proven track record in engineering.
3. Relevant qualifications such as a degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, and/or an equivalent industry-recognized qualification.
4. A valid CSCS card and other relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, First Aid) are highly desirable.
5. Extensive experience working on large-scale projects, ideally in the industrial or infrastructure sectors.
6. Strong knowledge of structural design principles, steel frame construction, and relevant building codes and standards.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks on-site.
8. Solid understanding of health and safety procedures and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
9. Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring the quality of work.
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
11. Experience with construction software and technology for project tracking and reporting.
