Are you a Bid Manager or Bid Writer looking for a permanent role and the opportunity to join a well-established multi-disciplinary design consultancy consisting of chartered surveyors, design engineers, architects, civil and structural engineers at a period of expansive growth and success?
The requirement is for someone to join the existing team providing support on multiple projects predominantly within the MOD and Defence sector. The successful person will be required and able to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (not necessary to start).
Below is a general overview of the role, salary is a guideline and will depend on level of experience and knowledge. The opportunity is there to work on a hybrid basis with 2 days a week in the office in either Portsmouth or Monmouth (preferably Portsmouth).
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Ownership of the complete bid process—from initial planning to final submission.
2. Review and analyse bid documentation to extract key requirements.
3. Develop compelling responses, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with client needs.
4. Work closely with operational teams, estimators, and stakeholders to gather high-quality input.
5. Identify unique selling points (USPs) and competitive advantages to strengthen bids.
6. Maintain a high level of market intelligence, staying ahead of industry trends and best practices.
7. Track and analyse win/loss rates, ensuring continuous improvement in bid strategy.
8. Oversee site visits and interviews, identifying key champions to represent the business.
9. Manage and update a library of submission information for future bids.
What We're Looking For:
1. Proven experience in Bid Management, leading successful submissions from start to finish.
2. Exceptional writing, organisation, and communication skills.
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
4. A collaborative mindset, able to coordinate input from multiple teams.
5. Up-to-date knowledge of the construction industry and tendering processes.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bid management tools.
7. Bid & Proposal Management Qualification (preferred).
