Job Description We are currently seeking a Forecasting Manager to join our Central Transport Network Department at our Appleton Thorn site. As Forecasting Manager you will take on responsibility of coordinating the Planning operation.The role gives exposure to Senior Management forums and decision making and as such requires strong commercial and operational awareness of the wider Stobart Group. You will host conference calls whilst utilising varying system driven reports to feedback on the daily operation. You will ensure informed decisions are made in managing network volumes and delivering efficient plans whilst also satisfying customer service expectations. Working hours: Monday to Friday nights, 20.00-06.00 Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE) Key Duties of Forecasting Manager: Coordinate the day to day planning operation through synergies across all business sectors in the Stobart network and third party support. Manage ad hoc requests or short lead time requests from the commercial Team, ad hoc hauliers and existing customers. Through data analysis and regular communication, have a continual grasp of the current state of play regarding planned and unplanned work. Being prepared and comfortable to share the information at any time with members of Senior Management. Chair planning conference calls, reacting and planning to the current state of play. Assist with the management of trailers, decom trailers and units in line with business requirements. Review Cognos reports; analysing regional/divisional trends in relation to empty legs, trunked work and other improvements to the utilisation of the fleet. Ensure that the flow of communication from the central forecast team is clear, timely and consistent i.e. promotional activity as advised by customers as well as the notes and next steps captured during the conference Calls. Manage and administer the customer forecast sheets held within the central resource drive. Monitor the national road network and highlight issues that may affect the business. Monitor and record the short and medium term UK Weather Forecast and communicate any weather warnings issued as necessary. Manage or assist in any project as directed by Senior Management.
