We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Science Teacher to join a vibrant Humanities and Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across a range of social science subjects, such as Sociology, Psychology, and Criminology, at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. This role begins September 2025.
Duties as a Social Science Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Social Science subjects
* Inspire students to develop analytical, evaluative, and research skills through interactive teaching methods
* Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring progress for all learners
* Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners
* Assess, track, and provide feedback on student progress in line with school policies
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages debate and independent learning
* Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
* Engage with parents and carers to support student progress and well-being
Ideal Social Science Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, or a related subject
* Experience teaching Social Science subjects at secondary level, ideally including A-Level
* A passion for social issues and the ability to encourage critical thinking in students
* Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high expectations for all learners as a Social Science Teacher.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
