Job Overview
Department: Plastic Surgery
Full Time: This role is to work from Monday to Friday on site, within the core hours of 08.00 - 17.00 (7.5 hours per day).
The collaborative of Head & Neck, Orthopaedic and Reconstructive Services is looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader who is ready for a challenge, with the potential to develop skills and knowledge. You will support the collaborative in achieving its goals, particularly in recovering from the impacts of the COVID pandemic and providing high-quality service to patients. You will work closely with the Admin Manager and other Team Leaders within the collaborative.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and supervisory skills, working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. You will provide comprehensive and professional secretarial and administrative support to the service, ensuring the team delivers an effective and efficient service to Plastic Surgery.
The post holder will deputise for the Admin Manager in their absence and undertake aspects of line management for junior admin support.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE in Maths and English or Functional Skills, Level 2
* NVQ3 level Secretarial or Business Administrative qualification or equivalent experience
* Medical Terminology Qualification Level 2 or equivalent experience
* Customer care qualification, Level 2 or equivalent experience
* Short courses associated with People Management responsibilities
* Demonstrable experience in Line Management and Leadership activities
* Audio-typing qualification or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills
* Substantial working knowledge of secretarial/clerical processes
* Efficient and accurate word processing skills
* Substantial working knowledge of Patient Administration Systems
* Understanding of outpatient clinic arrangements and secretarial office procedures
* Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations and patient confidentiality
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in Line Management and Leadership activities
* Substantial Secretarial and administrative experience
* Extensive use of Office and Outlook, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
