The Community Paediatric service at Poole Hospital is seeking to recruit an experienced support secretary for 30 hours per week.
The Community Paediatric team is located at Poole Hospital within the Women, Children and Oncology Directorate. The community service has consultants who focus on four main areas of practice: neuro disability, social paediatrics, educational medicine, and public health. Many of the children referred to this service present with multiple and/or complex conditions including behavioural difficulties. The service is also responsible for child protection and safeguarding children duties.
Main duties of the job
The support secretary post will be a key role in the community administrative teams, using audio typing skills to produce high levels of patient-related correspondence and reports. The post holder(s) will also contribute to the general daily activities of the office such as responding to telephone enquiries, filing activities, and other specific key activities that are the responsibility of the Paediatric teams.
There will be a requirement to deal with any child protection/safeguarding liaison/communication as required (training will be provided).
Applicants will have a broad spectrum of administration skills and demonstrable typing skills. In addition to this, applicants should have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
