This role is known for operating in a strategic manner, needing to consider both commercial and category management. Responsible for developing, getting buy-in and executing the Pan-EU Maintenance (servicing/repairs, tyres, parts, fluids, towing and other) and Damage (Gross Collision, Damage Collection, Short Term Maintenance) strategies and overseeing all aspects of the Pan-EU Maintenance and Damage supply chain & operations, accountable for a total spend of circa $125m. In addition, Pan-EU Logistics ($20m) covering local, in-country and pan-European transport falls within the remit. What You'll Do: COST MANAGEMENT
* Meets and exceeds annual savings objective.
* Tracks and reports project savings accurately.
* Provides proactive, value adding suggestions to the business.
* Perform total cost of ownership evaluations, supply chain market research, pricing audits and impact analysis for the pursuit of continuous cost improvements, reductions and process improvement activities.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
* Implements systems and processes that will enable the measurement & tracking of category cost and service levels to industry benchmarks.
* Provides proactive, value-adding support and suggestions to the business and develops Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
* Tracks and reports on continuous improvement initiatives.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
* Leads and executes sourcing projects, including strategy development, supplier negotiation, award recommendations, business case presentations, risk management, contract execution, plus management of the project team.
* Positive stakeholder feedback
* Successful delivery of country and pan-EU sourcing projects.
CONTROL & COMPLIANCE
* Stays current with legislative requirements, ensuring compliance within the sourcing strategy.
* Ensures financial checks are completed before any new suppliers are on-boarded and compliance questionnaires are sent to all new suppliers and reviewed upon return.
* Ensure contracts are signed per TOA requirements.
* Ensure suppliers spend over $50k, has a contract.
CONTRACT & VENDOR MANAGEMENT
* Negotiation of contract terms including warranty provisions.
* Leads regular business review meetings with suppliers to review SLAs, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Identifies and resolves supplier performance issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Ensure actions are taken before contracts expire.
* Ensure SLA / KPI metrics are tracked and reported.
* Ensure authorised signatories exist on all signed contracts.
STRATEGIES
* Partners with internal stakeholders to design and implement local and regional sourcing strategies & solutions for Hertz Europe. Defines the "right" network of repairers & suppliers in liaison with Maintenance & Damage stakeholders.
* Delivery on agreed actions and savings.
* Presentation of clearly defined strategy to stakeholders.
* Ensure positive stakeholder feedback., Creates win-win commercial arrangements with suppliers whilst maximising commercial contribution.
* Generates and brings meaning to data, to explain business performance and support commercial decisions.

* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, clearly and appropriately for the audience.
* This role will connect with internal UK & EU Country stakeholders, supply chain colleagues, maintenance director & senior management and also with external suppliers.
Degree educated or equivalent with 8+ years exp.
* Regional & global sourcing and procurement experience with direct/maintenance & professional services knowledge, principles and best practice.
* Experience of working within a large multi-national.
* Experience of Make or Buy analysis and outsourcing.
