Qualified Solicitor Opportunity
Location: Based in Wembley (10 mins walk from Wembley Park Underground Station) and lots of on-site parking available.
Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience) - Normal working hours 9.00 – 17.30.
Reporting to: Chief Legal Officer.
Varied workload, to include:
* Advising Group HR on a full range of employment related issues to include disciplinary; flexible working requests; grievances; and capability matters.
* Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. These are often construction based, with the NEC suite of contracts being a popular choice for our clients.
* Ensuring subcontractors and suppliers meet the relevant criteria (insurances; references; signed agreement to Group protocols).
* Instructing external counsel, where appropriate, typically on property and larger litigation matters.
Desirable attributes and skills:
* Good drafting skills and ability to focus on commercial issues.
* Strong personality required to: (a) ensure operational managers review relevant parts of contracts (e.g. work scope); (b) refuse subcontractor approval where criteria not satisfied; (c) carry out disciplinary action.
* While some experience and understanding of NEC contracts and employment matters is desirable, the most important attribute is a willingness to learn, develop and advise.
