Well known university based in central London is seeking to recruit a Student System Senior Developer (SITS) on a permanent basis for a remote role to start as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to progress their SITS development career further by joining the university into a senior development role.
The Student Record Systems Senior Developer is responsible for enhancing the student record system (SITS) and for delivering system developments which support the University's management of the student lifecycle.
The purpose of the developer role is to ensure that robust and effective student systems infrastructure is deployed and managed that meets the needs of various stakeholders across the institution.
Essential Skills:
The ideal Student Record Systems Senior Developer (SITS) will have strong SITS development experience with SITS: eVision and ideally StuTalk experience also.
You will have a track record of SITS development experience and be someone who is keen to develop their SITS career further, utilising on the development experience you already have.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead on the design, development, testing and implementation of solutions and enhancements to student systems, including SITS:Vision, e:Vision,and related systems as appropriate
Develop training materials, technical documentation and manuals as part of developments
Develop deep knowledge of the university's student data systems to support enterprise delivery of systems.
Work as part of a team, with product owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements of the departments or process leads and implement them on project timelines.
Advisor for student data solutions design, technology identification, feasibility, input to scoping, estimating, planning, and costing of solutions required to support student data business requirements.
Ensure student data systems, and data storage solutions are built to the highest possible standard responsible for both functional and non-functional requirements.
Constructively advise on decisions taken by projects in line with the student data and learning strategy and best practice including project budgets, planning and forecasting.
Data Security Policy and Procedure: Work with and implement data security policies and procedures to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Establish best practices for data privacy and data governance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR with the DPO.
Technology Research and Implementation: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in data engineering. Evaluate new technologies and tools and make recommendations for their implementation.
Provide expertise and advice in the management, setup and maintenance of records and expertise and advice for information flows to, from and between systems as well as contribute to the overall integrity of the data as used by systems.
