Our client, a local authority in the South, is seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Manager to oversee Children's Services projects, with a focus on school infrastructure. This role requires a dynamic individual who can ensure the successful delivery of projects in compliance with legislation and educational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for the performance, progress, and timeliness of Children’s Services projects, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice standards.
2. Act as a liaison with local school leaders, governors/trusts, and other stakeholders, championing the delivery of projects and coordinating various elements to meet educational requirements.
3. Collaborate with project teams to develop clear delivery strategies and robust arrangements for feasibility, design management, procurement, and execution of projects, while coordinating specialist advice.
4. Coordinate support services' input to projects, including property, finance, and legal, ensuring necessary documents are prepared and finalised.
5. Provide client-side project management support throughout all stages of the project delivery lifecycle for various schemes.
Specific Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree qualified, preferably in the built environment, with commensurate professional experience.
2. PRINCE2/PMP/RICS or equivalent project management qualification or equivalent professional experience.
3. Background in construction or project management with thorough knowledge gained through extensive experience.
4. Specialized knowledge and skills across sectors/service areas, including schools/education, legal and regulatory requirements, and non-compliance risks.
5. Experience managing budgets, resources, and funding within the context of Local Government.
6. Thorough knowledge of effective change and stakeholder management principles gained through extensive experience.
