Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Adult Mental Health Specialty of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board on a permanent basis in our Newport West Team. The Adult Clinical Psychology Service provides a wide range of psychological services for individuals with high levels of psychological distress. Services include: provision of assessment; development of shared understanding of presenting problems (formulation); delivery of a wide range of specialist, evidenced-based psychological interventions; inpatient care; and the provision of training, consultation and clinical supervision. Main duties of the job This post will involve supporting and delivering low intensity psychological interventions, conducting observations, engaging service users and assisting qualified Psychologists with assessments and interventions. The successful applicants will benefit from high levels of support and high quality supervision throughout. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
