Role Overview:
We are looking for a Reporting Accountant to join our evolving team within the UK and Ireland region of NEP. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior management and play a key role in driving financial performance, providing insightful analysis, and ensuring financial compliance. Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Co-ordinate the production and review of monthly management accounts, investigating variances and preparing/presenting monthly financial reports in line with Group deadlines. You will provide valuable analysis and insights that support business decision-making.
2. Cash Flow Management: Lead the monthly production of rolling cash flow forecasts and manage daily cash, ensuring the business remains in a strong financial position.
3. Dashboard & KPI Reporting: Take ownership of dashboard reporting, providing key metrics and KPIs to monitor and drive performance.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the development of annual budgets and regular forecasting activities, supporting the business with financial planning.
5. Business Partnering: Work closely with department heads to monitor performance, offering historical variance analysis, forecasting insights, and budgetary planning.
6. Relationship Building: Develop and build strong relationships with senior management, department managers, colleagues across NEP entities, and external partners such as banks, auditors, and tax advisers.
7. Statutory Compliance: Ensure the timely completion of all corporate and statutory requirements, including financial statements, VAT, employment tax, corporation tax, and ONS returns.
8. Tax Strategy: Collaborate with the NEP Group and external advisers on tax strategy, ensuring accurate calculation and accounting for tax provisions.
9. Team Leadership: (If applicable) You may have team management responsibilities for 1-2 direct reports, guiding and mentoring them to success.
About You:
1. Professional Certification: ACA/ACCA or QBE with 3-5 years of industry experience in a fast-moving environment.
2. UK GAAP Expertise: Solid understanding of UK GAAP and its application in financial reporting.
3. Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills, with confidence in interacting at all levels and adapting your style for both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Self-Motivated: A proactive, positive attitude, demonstrating drive and enthusiasm to achieve your potential and improve team performance.
5. Analytical Mindset: Commercial acumen with the ability to think critically, challenge financial performance positively, and provide valuable variance analysis and commentary.
6. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to correlate and cross-reference multiple data sources to ensure accuracy.
Desired Skills:
1. US GAAP Experience: Prior knowledge or experience with US GAAP.
2. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting applications like Sun, Proactis, Infor Q&A reporting, and Concur.
3. CRM & Reporting Tools: Experience with database reporting or CRM tools such as Qlik and Salesforce.
4. Industry Experience: Previous experience working in a US group or the Entertainment industry is a plus.
