Welsh Water is currently looking to recruit a store person to work on our Welsh Water contract in Wales.
The Progressive Metering Store person is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of metering equipment, specifically focusing on the issuing, delivery, and tracking of progressive metering units. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a valid driver's license and the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and project teams. The Store person will ensure the timely delivery of metering equipment to site, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the successful implementation of the metering plan.
As the Store Person your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Meter Issuing and Management:
- Receive, inspect, and store metering equipment, ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Issue meters and associated equipment to technicians and project teams as required.
- Maintain accurate records of meter serial numbers, calibration dates, and other critical information.
- Ensure meters are stored and handled in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
Site Delivery:
- Transport metering equipment to various site locations using company vehicles.
- Plan delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of equipment.
- Load and unload equipment safely and securely
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed and signed upon delivery.
Record Keeping and Data Management:
- Maintain meticulous records of meter movements, including issuance, delivery, and returns.
- Accurately record critical information related to meter installations and removals.
- Utilize computer systems and databases to track inventory and generate reports.
- Ensure all data entry is accurate.
Liaison and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and technicians to coordinate meter deliveries and installations.
- Provide updates on meter availability and delivery schedules.
- Address any issues or concerns related to meter equipment or deliveries.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on stock levels.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and operated safely.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Essential:
- Valid full UK driving license.
- Proven experience in a stores/logistics role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to use computer systems and databases.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items.
Desirable:
- Experience working with metering equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Experience working within the utilities industry
