We are Community Integrated Care a national Health and Social Care Organisation supporting people with autism, learning disabilities and mental health issues and we are looking to recruit an experienced Autism Lead for a 2 year fixed term contract on a job share basis for 18.75 hours per week - Wednesday to Friday.
The ideal candidate will be based in the North West with the ability to travel to our head office in Widnes and you must be able to travel nationally as and when required.

The National Autism Lead will lead on the development and implementation of approaches and practice for supporting the care and support of individuals with autism across the organisation.
The National Autism lead will use their specialist knowledge to champion person-centred, holistic approaches and evidence-based practice to ensure that individuals with autism are experiencing an excellent standard of care and support.
With a predominant focus on delivering the strategic aims of our Complex Care provision, the postholder will work in collaboration with the wider Clinical Team and PBS team to ensure that clinical excellence and person-centred approaches are applied and delivered across the organisation in line with our values.
Day to Day (list not exhaustive see attached job description)
* To be the recognised and acknowledged specialist practitioner within the organisation for supporting individuals with autism;
* To provide specialist advice/consultation and support throughout the organisation in relation to autism. The postholder will offer a visible and supportive presence, providing an expert resource to all colleagues and stakeholders and will ensure colleagues across the organisation are aware of the aims to improve support and care for individuals with autism and what their role is in improving practice;
* Lead and implement initiatives to improve the care and support that individuals with autism receive across the organisation and ensure these meet best practice and regulatory guidance;
* Use specialist knowledge to promote a person-centred, holistic and compassionate approach towards improving care and support for individuals with autism;
* Identify training needs and contribute to wider learning and developing aims in relation to widening knowledge and understanding of autism and improving care and support for individuals with autism;
* Work in collaboration with the wider clinical team to ensure appropriate changes take place and lead the change processes that will ultimately develop professional practice and enhance care for the people we support;
* Work in collaboration with key stakeholders and be responsible for developing policy and practice in line with the principles of improving care and support for individuals with autism;
* Maintain a robust working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision in respect of autism and the broader mental health agenda and to ensure new and emerging developments in relation to autism are implemented where required;
* Develop a person-centred and compassionate culture within practice; one that will enable both professional stakeholders and the people we support to partake in the development of the delivery of excellent care.
Our ideal Candidate
Skills and Experience (list not exhaustive see attached job description)
* Degree level qualifications relating to health and/or social care, autism;
* Post-degree level qualification relating to health and social care, autism or mental health is desirable;
* Social Care / Management Qualification is desirable;
* Demonstrable current/recent experience of multi-disciplinary/inter-agency team working supporting people with a known autism diagnosis;
* Experience of working within a complex care setting or supporting individuals with autism is desirable;
* Experience in undertaking a variety of assessments of healthcare needs and the impact of this in relation to personalised care and support plans;
* A sound understanding of autism and the strengths and challenges that individuals with Autism may face;
