We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Asset Engineer at Perth (Head Office), on an 18 month Maximum Term basis.
About this role
As the Senior Asset Engineer, you will be accountable for undertaking asset failure investigations and developing the investigation report for each reportable incident. This role includes conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA)/ICAM investigations to identify cause of failures and identify areas of improvement. You will also be required to:
1. Undertake technical asset failure investigations related to all asset failures/notifiable incidents on the LV and HV distribution network.
2. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), identify cause of failures and propose appropriate remedial actions for the issues identified.
3. Carry out and/or coordinate evidence collection and inspections of failed assets (including site scoping and evidence testing) where required to assist in failure assessments.
4. Analyse asset failures using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and address potential problems or failures.
5. Conduct thorough assessments and incident trending analysis to identify areas of improvement, including change to work practices, maintenance strategies etc.
6. Prepare incident investigation reports in structured format to systematically document the findings and recommendations within agreed timeframes.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders (internal and external), ensuring that all stakeholders work together to deliver on investigation outcomes.
8. Demonstrate personal behaviours in line with business values, codes, standards and expectations.
9. Drive a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation and a constructive, adaptive culture.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
10. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering essential
11. Eligible for Professional Engineer membership (MIEAust) with Engineers Australia
12. Significant engineering industry experience (at least 10 years) preferably in conducting RCA/ICAM investigations
13. Demonstrated track‐record of combining comprehensive technical skills with exposure to risk management and governance processes.
14. Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in maintenance and asset management related functions.
15. Demonstrated commitment to safety.
16. Excellent demonstration to the creation of documents including incident investigations reports.
