Geotechnical Engineer
Our client is a rapidly expanding geotechnical design consultancy, part of one of the UK’s leading specialist ground engineering contractors, offering a range of additional services.

Due to continued expansion and an abundant pipeline of works, our client now wishes to appoint a Geotechnical Engineer to plan, prioritise and manage site-based field testing and accompanying laboratory works. You will work on multiple schemes simultaneously, with responsibilities including geotechnical testing activities, analysing, interpreting and reporting results, and proposing the most appropriate methodology for ground treatment or foundation techniques based on soil conditions.
The Role
1. Supervision of site-based testing, including soil sampling, and reporting on results.
2. Collect and organise data to produce reports for internal teams and clients.
3. Ensure safe, profitable and timely delivery of all assigned responsibilities on various sites and projects.
4. Input to proposal writing, and interpretative reporting.
5. Develop and maintain professional relationships to maximise project procurement and delivery.
6. Conduct site visits, assessments, and surveys, including client meetings to ascertain project specifications.
7. Ensure all technical works are carried out in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.
The Person
1. At least 2-3 years’ practical work experience.
2. Ability to manage and deliver accountabilities on time and within budget.
3. Combination of site work with office or lab-based technical duties.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Familiarity with relevant technical industry requirements or regulations.
6. Excellent numerical skills including data interpretation.
7. IT literacy with Microsoft packages.
