Job summary Band 6 GU/Health Adviser Due to retirement there is a rare opportunity to become a Health Adviser/integrated GU Nurse within Sexual Health. We are looking to appoint an individual who is hardworking, motivated and energetic to join a well-established Sexual Health team in the Sexual Health clinic in Chichester. Ideally the successful candidate will have excellent HIV and sexual health knowledge, underpinned with current experience of working within a sexual health/ HIV setting. Previous or current experience of working as a sexual health adviser would be an advantage. This is a full time post but part time hours will be considered. The post holder maybe required to cover some Saturdays (on an ad hoc basis). Main duties of the job The post holder will be guided by and support the Team Manager on the continued development of the Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS). Together with the wider team they will work towards ensuring that service provision meets Key Performance Targets and professionally recognised standards. The post holder works to promote treatment, control and prevention of the spread of STIs and is responsible for providing information and counselling for patients attending the Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS) and for offering support, advice and education to other agencies, both statutory and voluntary, involved in sexual health. As part of the wider ISHS team he/she works towards ensuring service provision meets the Key Performance Targets and professionally recognised standards and services in line with National and local strategy, the Department of Health '15 Steps' quality criteria and supports Patient First, a trust-wide approach to improving the quality of care offered to patients. The post holder follows national and local policy. Takes clinical responsibility for the delivery of effective partner notification to support public health in the community. Ensures contact(s) attendance and treatment through index patient or provider referral. BASHH guidance and outcome measures should be followed to ensure optimal management.
