Events Assistant (Maternity Cover) Salary - £25,584 - £27,269 per annum (Grade 4) Hours - 37 hours per week Contract type - Fixed Term up to 12 Months We are looking for an an Events Assistant to join our team up to 12 months, fixed term contract to cover one of the Team's Maternity Leave. As part of the vision for Wolverhampton to be an Events City, the City Events Team have a five-year Events Strategy, with an exciting programme, aimed at delivering footfall and local economic benefit to the city. Join us on this journey to develop and deliver this ambitious plan. Working closely with partners, our vibrant programme of events, with audiences ranging from 4 – 40,000, includes live events, festivals, religious events, televised events, major sporting events, community events and large and small outdoor events across many locations in the city. The post-holder will be responsible for assisting the team in the operational delivery of the events programme, managing event enquiries and potential bookings, particularly for parks and open spaces and liaising with hirers to ensure that their events are well supported. They will also carry out other duties as required such as administration of the PESAG (Public Events Safety Advisory Group) process and use of the Team's software systems. About you We are looking for someone with the essentials; Basic knowledge of how an event works and what is involved in organising an event. Experience of volunteering/working at events. But equally important is your; Ability to multi-task. Strong interpersonal skills Ability to be patient, calm under pressure and to adapt to a changing brief. Desire to gain knowledge of the Events Industry. Due to the nature of the post, there will be a requirement to work outside of normal office hours in order to deliver our busy events programme.
