Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of medical devices in the hospital, as recommended by device manufacturers. This includes performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repairs on a variety of clinical equipment to meet functional and safety specifications.
Update and manage the Medical Equipment Database to ensure accurate and complete technical records of all work performed. Provide day-to-day support to the department, including assisting clinical staff with technical issues related to medical devices, liaising with device manufacturers, and helping maintain stock levels.
Participate in regular in-house and OEM training courses to stay informed of the latest clinical and technical developments in Clinical Engineering. Provide clinical technical support through planned preventative maintenance, repair, calibration, safety, and acceptance testing on a range of medical equipment.
Offer administrative support to the team by updating job and device records in the medical equipment management database, assisting with procurement, managing the acceptance of medical devices, maintaining the medical user training record database, overseeing documentation, managing calibration records of test equipment, and supporting the medical equipment library.
Foster a customer-focused culture by understanding and addressing customer needs, ensuring timely and effective communication at all levels.
Key responsibilities include diagnosing equipment faults, performing safety tests, and overseeing the commissioning and decommissioning of devices. The role also entails maintaining accurate records, conducting equipment library rounds, updating the equipment database, managing stock levels, and collaborating with clinical staff.
Furthermore, the postholder is tasked with supervising calibration processes, adhering to quality standards, participating in audits, and engaging in continuous professional development while providing coverage for colleagues as needed.
