An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Personal Advisor post in the Asylum Through Care Team.
You will be working with separated asylum-seeking and refugee care experienced young people aged between eighteen to twenty-five.
Transitioning from care can be daunting and scary; your role will be to ensure that young people who you are working with are fully equipped and prepared to navigate their way through to adulthood.
You will be working alongside young people to ensure good outcomes and that the service we provide is the best that it can be. This is an excellent opportunity for a Personal Advisor who wants to make a difference and join our stable and dedicated team.
We want every young person within our service to achieve all their aspirations in life, be safe, and strive for the best.
We want to recruit a passionate Personal Advisor who can be a strong advocate and work closely alongside partner agencies.
As a Personal Advisor, as described in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and the Children and Social Work Act 2017, you will be reviewing and updating pathway plans on a 6-monthly basis. You will provide expertise in overcoming the barriers that young people face in progressing and succeeding in independent living. You will offer specialist support interventions as part of the local Care Leaver Offer, and as part of a holistic approach embedded into the care leaver service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver a tailored transitions and independence support package which prepares young people for moving onto independent living.
2. Liaise with services and build relationships with providers to access housing support for young people.
3. Develop and deliver workshops to small groups of young people around preparing for independent living.
We support Personal Advisors to develop excellent assessment and analytical skills, which are key to understanding young people’s worlds. We are a very supportive team.
You will be fully supported to develop the confidence to make timely decisions and implement Pathway Plans with achievable goals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
We have fantastic learning and development opportunities, and we highly value our staff.
In Redcar and Cleveland, we are deeply committed to getting the best outcomes for our young people. Having Personal Advisors who are enthusiastic, committed, and passionate will make a difference. Young people are at the centre of all that we do, and our practice is underpinned by established relationships and truly knowing and understanding the young people who we work with.
