Looking for a challenging and varied role in highways maintenance? Due to continued growth, NY Highways are looking to welcome a Ganger, or Team Supervisor, to support our operations from our Whitby Depot.

You'll lead and direct a minimum 4-person team, overseeing maintenance and construction works across our sites in beautiful North Yorkshire.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring works are completed to specification and on schedule
2. Managing supply chain partners
3. Conducting a range of skilled tasks such as installing kerb lines, drainage repairs, and footway construction
4. Handling general maintenance duties
5. Managing traffic
6. Operating relevant equipment for various routine and cyclical works
This role involves participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergencies and winter maintenance activities. Therefore, it is desirable that the successful candidate holds a current Drivers Licence with access to personal transport.
Minimum Qualifications:
While experience in the following areas is beneficial, we encourage candidates with a mix of qualifications to apply:
1. Banksman
2. Manual Handling
3. Abrasive wheels
4. Emergency First Aid
5. Safe Dig
6. Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
7. Relevant Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance, or relevant work experience

NY Highways provides highways services across North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. From road maintenance to street lighting and road signs and pavement repairs, we operate in close partnership with North Yorkshire Council, combining a commercial focus with public sector values including delivering highway civil engineering & infrastructure projects.
