Role Overview
As a Transport Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing the logistics of delivering and collecting hire equipment. You'll be responsible for coordinating transportation schedules, ensuring timely deliveries, and liaising with both customers and internal teams to ensure the smooth operation of the hire process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Schedule and coordinate deliveries and collections of hire equipment.
2. Work closely with drivers and third-party transport providers to ensure timely and efficient service.
3. Communicate with customers to confirm delivery and collection times and address any concerns or special requirements.
4. Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules and vehicle availability.
5. Track the location and status of deliveries and proactively address any potential delays or issues.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
7. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and warehouse staff, to ensure seamless operations.
8. Manage customer enquiries and resolve any logistical challenges that may arise.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Previous experience in transport coordination or a similar logistics role (preferably in the hire or rental industry).
2. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
5. Knowledge of transport regulations and health and safety procedures.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or transport management software.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a customer-focused attitude.
