Job summary Are you currently working as a GP in Lambeth and are an experienced GP of good professional standing with considerable experience in the care of children and young people and their families? SEL ICS (Lambeth) have a vacancy in their safeguarding team and are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Named GP for Child Protection/Safeguarding Children to join our established Lambeth 'Place,' safeguarding team of designated and named professionals. The Named GP will advise and support borough general practices to meet their responsibilities to safeguard children. The Named GP will work closely with the designated professionals and the strategic lead for safeguarding children across the ICB. This will require collaboration with the statutory agencies namely children social care and the Police as well as other agencies and NHS providers across the Lambeth health economy area. We would like to encourage any interested GPs to apply for the opportunity to be Named GP for safeguarding for Lambeth. This is a really important job to help support care for our vulnerable children within the borough, and also support Lambeth GPs with their child protection work. There is clinical and managerial support available for the successful candidate and also opportunities for leadership programmes such as 'walking in your shoes programme' through which we are currently actively working on communication channels between health and social work to improve joined up care for children.
