Senior Quantity Surveyor required - New Build
Our client is an award-winning new build residential developer who is continuing to expand in the North Home Counties region. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. Previous experience with a recognised house builder will be an essential requirement for this role.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. General project coordination and administration.
2. Preparation of initial site budgets.
3. Liaison and coordination with other departments regarding development works including engineers, surveyors, buyers, interiors, and the construction team.
4. Preparation of subcontract tender documents.
5. Negotiation of subcontract packages.
6. Chairing and preparation of minutes for subcontract pre-order meetings.
7. Preparation of subcontract documentation.
8. Subcontract payments, variation claims, and final account settlement.
9. Measurement, calculation, and preparation of direct labour prices.
10. Processing payment of direct labour wages.
11. Coordination with contractors on site.
12. Site visits and inspections.
13. Liaison with external consultants regarding cost issues.
14. Payment of utility services as required.
15. Obtain risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation from subcontractors.
16. Taking off and scheduling of materials for passing to buyers for ordering.
17. Preparation of monthly cost reports for submission to Directors.
18. Preparation of external valuations for finance reporting and funding agreements.
19. Continuous financial advice throughout the project to the Site Management team.
20. Attendance of fortnightly Project Review meetings.
21. Ensuring cost control on site throughout the development programme to completion.
22. Maintaining site files and records.
23. Ensuring correct cost coding of project costs.
24. Such other duties, reasonably consistent with the foregoing, as may be required.
About You
You will be a driven individual with a working knowledge of JCT forms of contract and have proven cost management and project administration abilities on your own projects. To be successful, you will be a team player, self-motivated, and able to work using your own initiative. Experience of MS Excel and Word is essential.
