A pioneering organisation in the electric vehicle infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced EV Charging Installation and Commissioning Engineer to support the deployment of its next-generation DC solutions across the UK.
With a portfolio of innovative charging systems and involvement in major government-backed programmes, this company is scaling rapidly and offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects across the commercial EV sector.
This is a field-based, hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong electrical skills and direct experience in installing and commissioning EV charging equipment, particularly 400V three-phase and DC systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install and commission EV charging stations at customer sites, ensuring work is completed safely and to regulatory standards
* Troubleshoot and resolve faults on AC and DC charging systems, including backend software and network-related issues
* Work with 400V three-phase systems, ensuring safe and compliant connections
* Conduct thorough site inspections, tests, and verifications on completed installations
* Perform energy audits to assess site readiness for EV network deployment
* Commission 415V networks and sign off ICP works on-site
* Accurately document installation and testing processes through clear written reports
* Liaise directly with customers, providing technical support and responding to queries on-site
* Adhere to the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and all applicable EV charging standards
Required Skills and Experience:
* Apprentice-trained electrician with a recognised qualification
* Current certifications, including 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* City & Guilds 2919 (or equivalent) EV charging installation certification
* Proven experience with 400V three-phase commercial systems
* Demonstrated ability to diagnose faults on-site, including DC charging equipment
* Confident working with electrical test equipment and producing detailed reports
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
* Strong awareness of electrical safety and risk management
Desirable Skills:
* Experience commissioning EV chargers integrated with smart systems and backend platforms
* Familiarity with specific EV charging hardware manufacturers
* HV Permitted Person Entry qualification and/or experience with HV feeder pillar or substation installation
* A genuine interest in EV technology and sustainable transport
* Keen to maintain up-to-date knowledge in a rapidly evolving industry
