Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Fire Assay Technician for our client in St Helens This is a permanent position No Previous experience is required as full in house training will be given Working hours are Monday to Friday 12:00-20:00 To complete all tasks required ensuring work is processed through the fire assay department using classical fire assay methods, using high levels of precision, accuracy and efficiency, whilst adhering to H&S requirements. Main Duties will include but not limited to: Loading and unloading furnaces at high temperatures Lifting of samples up to 25kg Working with lead in a controlled environment Routinely use standard laboratory equipment such as balances Processing of daily samples from Fire Assay to the laboratory Performing of daily checks on equipment General H&S Responsibilities Comply with Health and Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc. Actively seek to improve safety culture. Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately. Other General Responsibilities Any other duties as required by line management, commensurate with the post holders' level of training and competence.
