This post is a band 2 to a band 3 progression (or band 3 depending on experience). Whether you are just starting off in your career and have a special interest in Pharmacy or looking to build on your existing experience then we are looking for you to join our friendly and forward thinking team, working primarily within both the Pharmacy inpatient department and ward areas.
We are looking to recruit to our patient-focused pharmacy team as we continue to expand across our ward and medicines distribution areas.
These roles are pivotal to the success of our Medicines Optimisation services and will be working closely with our Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to provide integrated pharmaceutical care for service users, to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines. You will participate in a range of duties within the Pharmacy Inpatient department and Pharmacy Stores and have the opportunity to develop skills further to support the ward based pharmacy service once completed all relevant training has been completed.
The successful candidates will be provided with training and support relevant to the role in order to develop skills and knowledge in hospital pharmacy practice.
Main duties of the job
You will either have or be supported to work towards the completion of the dispensing assistant course. You will also posses an ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently, effective time management skills and be flexible to changing work routines. Previous experience of working in a hospital or community pharmacy would be desirable.
With training and experience within the role you will then have the opportunity to progress to provide support in the delivery of a safe, efficient and cost-effective Medicines Optimisation Service across the in-patient dispensary and ward areas, as well as:
1. Provide support in implementing developments within Medicines Optimisation Services to meet the needs of the patient
2. To label, dispense and supply prescriptions
3. To work flexibly between the hours of and 7pm as part of the ward based and operational team in order to provide and maintain a comprehensive pharmaceutical service in line with current departmental policies and procedures
