Job Description:
Assistant Womenswear Brands Designer
Partnered Brands
Lets Take It On
From £30,000 (depending on experience)
Design studio, Market Harborough
Let’s talk trend led design… When it comes to UK retail, it’s hard to find a company with a bigger focus on quality within design. We sell thousands of items an hour and our repeat customer base comes back to us time and time again for our renowned trend led, quality products. For anyone in the Womenswear design field, this is the place to learn, grow, and thrive.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Designer to join the design team to work on our womenswear designer ranges for the brand The Set and others. Our Designers here at Next are always looking forward, focusing on trends and pushing the boundaries of what we can offer our fantastic customer base. Working as a key part of the critical path; creating new and innovative designs across Womenswear jersey within the partner branded team.
The role
Researching the latest trends relevant to various customer profiles and communicating this information to your team and senior stakeholders is a key part of this role. You will produce elevated designs that tastefully represent what the brand is after as well as the customer. Day-to-day tasks could include briefing suppliers and building great relationships while working closely with Designers and Buyers to support the entire design process from planning new ranges through to product selection. This fast-paced role is perfect for someone with extensive experience within this category. Working on The Set, it will give you an amazing chance to be part of the design vision of the brand.
About you
You should have experience at an Assistant Designer/Senior Assistant Designer level within a UK brand; your creativity and collaborative outlook would complement this role. Previous experience working on jersey and woven design is essential. A great taste level, a real passion for the latest trends, and a true eye for elevation and detail are required. A high level of experience and proficiency in creating and presenting seasonal trends, creating designs and tech packs using Adobe Creative Suite—from initial trend concepts to final tech packs—is necessary for this role. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The team
You would be joining an amazing team whose enthusiasm for design and elevation is the main focus. A wealth of experience across multi-fabrications and innovative progression is one of the many plus points of joining this team!
Your benefits
We’ll discuss more of what you’ll get when you work for Next at the interview, but here’s an overview of what you can expect:
* Profit-related bonus
* 25 days holiday and the opportunity to buy more
* Contributions into a pension scheme
* Sharesave scheme, which allows you to invest in Next and claim your share of our success
* National and local discounts on goods and services
