We are seeking a skilled Lead Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS to architect and develop scalable backend services for a data-driven tech platform. As part of a high-impact engineering team, you'll collaborate closely with front-end, mobile, and IoT teams to build a reliable, high-performance platform that supports real-time data processing, video streaming, and secure API integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead backend architecture and development using Node.js and TypeScript, focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance.
2. Design, implement, and manage RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support a cross-platform mobile app and web applications.
3. Integrate AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, and others, to support real-time data processing and streaming capabilities.
4. Develop and implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms, ensuring security and privacy compliance.
5. Optimize backend systems for data-heavy, low-latency applications, especially in the context of real-time features such as notifications and video/audio streaming.
6. Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, and IoT teams to ensure seamless data flow and functionality across all product components.
7. Oversee testing strategies, including automated testing, performance tuning, and optimization for backend services.
Requirements:
1. Strong experience in backend development, with 4+ years using Node.js and TypeScript.
2. Deep expertise in AWS ecosystem, including experience with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
3. Proficient in designing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs, with a strong understanding of real-time data handling.
4. Experience with video/audio streaming technologies (e.g., WebRTC, RTSP) and low-latency data systems.
5. Excellent problem-solving and team collaboration skills, with a focus on best practices and code quality.
6. Bonus: Familiarity with IoT integration, regulated industries, or experience working with cross-functional teams on hardware/software integrations.
