Senior Medical Secretary and Patient Pathway Supervisor

We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Senior Medical Secretary, Pathway Supervisor to join the Upper Surgery, Head and Neck, Dermatology and Breast Care Group.
The role will be for a Permanent position based at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital and QEQM.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage and monitor patients through their treatment pathway ensuring compliance to RTT, cancer pathways and local waiting time standards.
2. Manage Administration Teams.
3. Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical and audio typing support to consultants and their teams.
4. Link with operational management team to ensure that RTT, Cancer and EPR letter performance standards are met.
5. Serve as a key liaison between the Trust and outsourced dictation services, or voice recognition services, for the majority of clinical administration.
6. Work in a team-based secretarial service providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service.
7. Act as a key point of liaison between patients, GPs, other staff and outside agencies.

Person Specification
Experience
* Previous experience of managing and supervising staff, or working towards this, including allocation of work, identification of training and development needs, performance and management.
* Experience of a range of secretarial procedures.
* Minimum of 2 years' secretarial experience or waiting list experience.
* Experience of working for and within a team.
* Previous NHS/Medical secretary experience or waiting list experience.
* Previous experience of working within a busy administrative environment.
Skills
* Previous supervisory and/or management skills, or working towards these.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Ability to communicate with, coordinate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to remain calm in a busy environment whilst working under pressure.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of a range of secretarial work procedures and practice.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Supervisory or management qualification or training.
Other

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year pro rata per annum.
