Job summary The purpose of the Assistant Craftsperson is to manage a variety of engineering and environmental duties including preplanned maintenance and repair This would include plant and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the integrity of engineering services and infrastructure of the hospital and to provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff. Main duties of the job To be part of a team providing front line delivery of maintenance, defect & Breakdown response and Pre-Planned maintenance tasks, one key role will be legionella testing/sampling forming a part of the weekly duties. To complete new and alteration works within the post holders skills and experience both during and out with normal hours. The object of the job is to contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient and economical day-to-day maintenance, new and alteration works to ensure the safety of patients, staff and members of the public. Required to be accurate with the ability to ensure attention to detail when compiling verbal and written reports.
