Role Purpose:
This is a key role focusing on larger and more complex property and liability risks.
The role primarily involves developing broker and insurer accounts in line with underwriting appetite by reviewing, quoting and securing GWP.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. New Business – meeting agreed strategic growth plans by focusing on larger and more complex Property and Liability risks that fall outside the CE eTrade model.
2. Renewals - meeting agreed strategic growth plans by retaining larger and more complex Property and Liability risks that fall outside the CE eTrade model.
3. Development of Broker Accounts - work closely with our Key Account Managers and Underwriting Service Department to grow and manage broker relations.
4. Technical Referrals - utilise the highest level of underwriting authority granted by the Head of Underwriting to act as the technical referral point for scheme business and cascade technical expertise to other parts of the business.
5. New Schemes – take the lead on managing and embedding newly launched products before they roll out to USD. Support TUT in developing new schemes.
6. Product Development - pro-actively identify areas of opportunity, making recommendations to the Head of Underwriting, contributing to improvement of existing schemes to support our brokers.
7. Process Improvement - pro-actively identify areas of opportunity, making recommendations to the Head of Underwriting, contributing to increased efficiency and effective compliance across the business.
8. Support Technical Underwriting Function – work under the direction of Head of Underwriting to support governance, insurer relations, training, and other ad hoc tasks as needed by TUT.
9. Ensure you are taking responsibility for your own development time. You should complete all compulsory modules within the set deadline and ensure all Compliance Modules are complete and up to date.
Qualifications Required:
CII Qualification (Ideally Dip CII or progress towards, commitment to achieve ACII would be advantageous).
Experience Required:
Essential:
* 5 years' experience of Property and Liability underwriting
* Experience working with senior stakeholders

* Wide range of commercial insurance knowledge and experience.
