Our client in Potters Bar is looking for a Post Room Assistant to join them on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, this could extend to 12 months depending on the business needs at the time. Summary: Excellent pension and company benefits Monday to Friday 9am-5pm £25,200 to £31,500 dependent on experience 6 month FTC, could extend to 12 months depending on business needs Bonus: 8-12% pro rated to 6 months e.g. 4-6% Main Aim: To provide an effective and efficient internal digital post service to the business and its customers Duties: Open and sort incoming mail items from Royal Mail and external couriers. Prepare and scan mail items to end-user departments and to the agreed quality standards/timeframes Manage treasured documents effectively by following departmental processes, and completing records to a high standard and in a timely manner Performing small/medium sized mail-shots using mailroom machinery (automatic inserter/franking machine) Operate in-house large capacity printers and associated queues, distributing the resultant output accurately and within SLA, so as to ensure quality client/customer materials are available for outgoing distribution. Consigning of parcels to branches/intermediaries using most efficient and cost-effective methods. Able to assist in light maintenance duties when time and core role allows, porterage. Requirements What we need from you: Whilst no previous experience of working within a Postal environment in necessary, we require some experience of working within a team, preferably a small team, and be able to participate fully in the team achieving its overall goals. Able to work diligently, with less supervision when required. Confident in the use of MS Office, Word/Excel/Outlook. Can compose effective emails and complete spreadsheets accurately, Confidently communicate with all stakeholders both in writing and verbally, provide verbal and written updates to stakeholders and line management when required Be capable of following all the processes designed to reduce reputational and financial risk to the business, and help the business meet its obligations under the Data Protection Act. Confident to challenge the current processes where necessary, and seek continuous improvement across all processes used by the team.
