Deputy Head of Safety and Compliance

The Deputy Head of Safety and Compliance is responsible to the Head of Safety and Compliance to assist with the development, administration and maintenance of an effective safety management and compliance monitoring system that meets Regulatory and Company Requirements. The Deputy Head of Safety and Compliance will deputise for the Head of Safety and Compliance in their absence covering both Regulatory and Company responsibilities.
Responsibilities
1. Safety Management:
1. Help with facilitating hazard identification, risk analysis and management.
2. Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks and corrective actions.
3. Provide periodic reports on safety performance as directed.
4. Maintain safety management documentation and provide advice on safety matters.
5. Ensure that safety management training meets acceptable standards.
6. Participate in investigations as required.
7. Collate and disseminate information from other similar organisations, the regulator and contracted organisations.
8. Ensure safety audits are carried out on third party operations and/or training suppliers.
9. Create datapacks for safety meetings and record minutes and actions within Centrik.
2. Compliance Monitoring:
1. Maintain the Internal Audit Plan to meet the requirements of the Integrated Management System.
2. Ensure Internal Audits are undertaken in accordance with the plan.
3. Monitor the response to findings and observations from audits.
4. Provide periodic reports on compliance monitoring performance.
5. Maintain compliance monitoring documentation and provide advice on compliance matters.
6. Monitor Regulations for changes that need to be incorporated into procedures.
7. Ensure compliance monitoring audits are carried out on third party organisations.
8. Manage the approval process for providers.
9. Support external auditors and be involved in the response to external audit findings.
Requirements
1. Capable of being Deputy Safety Manager and Compliance Monitoring Manager for all Company Regulatory Approvals.
2. Good understanding of Operational, Aircrew and Continuing Airworthiness Regulations.
3. Good communicator at all levels within the Company, with Regulators, Customers and Providers.
4. Trained auditor with a minimum of 2 years and ideally at least 5 years of safety management and compliance monitoring experience.
5. Experience of ISO approvals and non UK Regulator aviation approvals is ideal; qualifications in Health and Safety is an advantage.
6. Willingness to travel to Company and Third-Party locations.
