The Role:
Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Buyer and play a pivotal role in managing the critical path, collaborating closely with our global supplier base, and ensuring timely production and delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Buyer:
Collaborate closely with the Head of Procurement to streamline operations within the buying department
Engage daily with suppliers via email and other channels
Generate and process purchase orders, placing orders with suppliers across the UK, Europe, and the Far East
Manage a high volume of purchase orders for multiple customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Verify and confirm Proforma invoices and order confirmations
Coordinate with Sales and Design teams to provide suppliers with necessary information for planned orders, facilitating smooth production and deliveries
Maintain and update departmental critical paths, proactively communicating changes to relevant teams
Identify and communicate potential disruptions in procurement processes
Plan and coordinate deliveries from port to warehouse, ensuring timely arrivals
Monitor and track deliveries, overseeing goods through Customs clearance procedures
Maintain shipping and product trackers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
Conduct thorough checks on artwork to ensure compliance with ingredient lists and safety data sheets
Effectively manage and organise product samples
Skills & Experience Required:
Strong and demonstrable experience in Buying or a related field
For junior candidates, a clear passion and interest in Buying, with a strong desire to build a career in this industry
Proficient IT skills, especially Excel and other MS Office applications
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
Natural problem-solving abilities and quick learner
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks
Proactive, determined, and effective team player
