Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is delivering a £679 million improvement project on the A428 in Cambridgeshire to bring a new 10-mile dual carriageway between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts. Working closely with design partner Mott MacDonald, this project builds on Skanska’s long-standing and trusted relationship with National Highways.
This scheme will transform one of the busiest road links in the East of England, helping drivers who live, work and travel in and around the surrounding areas to save time on their journeys and help build a better society.
We are now looking for an Assistant Planner to join the project. As Assistant Planner, you will assist with developing, maintaining and updating the project programme to produce an accurate programme that manages time risk and that the project team and customer can trust.
You Will:
1. Assist in maintaining and updating main project programme, helping to prepare programme submission documents and internal reporting.
2. Work with project team and suppliers to produce, challenge and maintain collaborative short-term programmes that align with the main programme.
3. Ensure that the lookahead/supplier programmes are accurate and monitor supplier KPI’s.
4. Lead collaborative planning and short-term programme sessions.
5. Assist with the development of 4D planning.
6. Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.
7. Experience of developing short term programmes for a section of works.
8. Understanding of the time impact of typical construction risks and opportunities.
9. Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
