We’re looking for an Environmental Specialist to join the INEOS Acetyls team. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.
INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and derivatives across Europe, Asia, and America. We’re part of INEOS, one of the largest petrochemical companies worldwide, employing around 26,000 people across 194 sites in 29 countries.
You will be based at the Hull site, the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and ethyl acetate in Europe. Our products are essential building blocks used in industries such as renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings, and textiles.
Hull hosts the company’s global Technology Development and Support Team and is located on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park, a hub for chemicals and renewable energy businesses in the UK’s energy estuary.

The opportunity
As an Environmental Specialist, you will ensure our operations comply with environmental, health, and safety legislation, and INEOS standards. You will serve as the subject matter expert on environmental issues at the Hull site, maintaining good relationships with regulators and environmental groups. Your role involves identifying opportunities to create value and address real-world challenges within multidisciplinary teams. Key accountabilities
* Manage environmental management programs and systems
* Be the subject matter expert on environmental legislation and INEOS standards
* Oversee waste management contracts
* Support assurance and verification processes
* Manage waste minimization and greenhouse gas emissions permits
* Coordinate ISO-9001 and ISO 14001 systems, lead internal audits
* Develop environmental strategies and sustainability plans
* Drive environmental improvements through asset and Capex programs
* Lead greenhouse gas and energy management
* Maintain environmental permits and liaise with regulators
About you
We seek candidates with the following Education/Experience:
* A degree in environmental management, chemical engineering, or similar, with experience in oil, gas, or petrochemicals
* Experience in environmental or operations management
* Knowledge of environmental legislation and working with the UK Environment Agency
* Auditing experience
* Understanding of health, safety, security, and crisis management legislation
Technical skills include environmental and social impact assessments.
