The role of the Field Technician is an exciting and dynamic position to provide support for the initial assembly and test of the structural health monitoring (SHM) systems prior to deployment to the site location. You will be required to contribute to the development of project planning and associated documentation prior to site mobilisation. Once on site, you will play a key role in installation, testing and commissioning of the SHM systems prior to handover to our online monitoring (OLM) team. Throughout the lifetime of the SHM system, there will be a requirement to carry out routine system maintenance, so you’ll be working with our OLM team on a regular basis to ensure our portfolio of systems remain online and operational for our clients. The role will also be required to perform site-based NDT field inspections for our clients within oil and gas, industrial and civil sectors (training will be provided). Previous experience of the following advantageous: working on industrial work sites fundamental knowledge of site health and safety practices. Basic safety certification advantageous - eg CSCS or CCNSG Basic understanding of the fundamentals of electrical based monitoring systems and data loggers Knowledge of IT equipment to include PCs, routers and network switches Ideally experience with installation of different sensing technologies and systems on site.
