This is an exciting opportunity to join the reception team of the Luton & Dunstable Hospitals private patient unit, The Cobham Clinic.
To undertake this role you will need to have a positive and pro-active approach to work, with a strong desire to deliver this highest standard of customer service to our patients in a very busy environment.
You will also need to be a good team member, use your initiative, be methodical and have excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising with people of all disciplines across the trust.
Main duties of the job
To act as receptionist and provide a clerical service to the Cobham Clinic. To act as support to the Clinic Manager and Finance Administrator and to be responsible for booking outpatients appointments and inpatient admissions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide a focal point of communication for the Cobham Clinic, with patients, relatives, medical and nursing staff, using judgement to facilitate a successful outcome of all enquiries.
To be responsible for the administration arrangements associated with admissions and outpatient appointments. Including liaising with theatres regarding booking of surgical procedures.
To collate data on service provided to private patients.
To input data onto the ipm administration system.
To maintain the filing of confidential patient records.
To prepare consulting rooms for clinics, ensuring all patient records are available.
To assist the nursing staff in booking follow-up appointments, and with locating and filing patient records.
To receive payment from patients before, during and after an episode of care. To issue a receipt for payment and take to cashiers office when required.
To open post and distribute accordingly.
To answer queries from patients regarding price schedules for procedures.
To sort and distribute mail, re-addressing discharged patients mail.
To be responsible for the post holders own mandatory training – fire, health and safety, manual lifting etc.
To be responsible for the post holders own training development programme, including a personal development plan.
