Summary
Our client is an international chemical manufacturing company with a large plant in the Grimsby area. This role has come up as the current Maintenance Planning Lead has been seconded on to a project for 18 months. This successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance planning for the site
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
* Supervises the maintenance planning activities according to the business plan
* Drives implementation of planning best practices (OE) and site alignment
* Participates in maintenance strategy improvement activities
* Participates in initiatives to improve standard maintenance tasks and procedures
* Drives performance and reports on maintenance planning KPIs
* Responsible for the backlog management
* Lead planners in continuous improvement in quality of existing and creation of new standard task instructions to improve planning efficiencies and develops personnel for succession
* Responsible for auditing and maintaining the accuracy and effectiveness of the CMMS data and task instructions
* Estimating, planning and preparing major plant shutdown events for successful execution by the area maintenance teams.
* Assist in producing the facility’s maintenance budget in conjunction with key stakeholders.
* Oversees and manages the Maintenance budget and forecast variances
* Drive the site shutdown planning & preparation process.
* Assisting maintenance and reliability engineers in driving implementation of reliability based maintenance strategies
* Develop maintenance kpi’s and assist with monthly cost reporting
* Lead and assist site supervision in driving work order quality improvements to both assist reliability analysis and planning efficiencies.
Site Specific Roles and Responsibilities
Deputises for the Maintenance Manager as required for such duties as
* Attend weekly Managers meeting
* Provide KPI information for the above
* Other duties as requested
Is a member of the site duty maintenance team on-call rota
Owns and maintains the Maintenance Workflow SITE/GEN/MI’s
Provides SAP Super User support for the site
* Takes line management responsibility for the Sites Planning team ensuring that:
* Performance management, development and disciplinary responsibilities are carried out
* Establishes and communicates clear performance targets and standards for the Planning team and provides regular feedback for the team regarding performance
* Monitors and manages individual and team performance standards, making effective use of relevant HR processes and procedures to support this (e.g. Personal review process, Disciplinary & Capability Procedures, Sickness Absence Management Procedure, etc.)
* Develops and facilitates delivery of personal development plans for all team members in accordance with the Performance Management process, aligned to the needs of the business
* In conjunction with the Training Department, develops an annual training plan and monitors progress/compliance to ensure all mandatory training, updating and certification requirements are met
* Conducts regular briefing and communication meetings with the team and ensures that a two-way flow of information and communication is established and maintained and, where appropriate, communicated to higher management.
* Promotes and supports the development of team based working to optimise employee ownership and involvement in problem solving and performance improvement
* Manages holidays with the team to ensure minimal disruption to schedule and plant needs, with minimum need for external contract support.
* Provides planning support for statutory, SIL & mandatory safety critical equipment.
* Satisfy the requirements of the role under Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) as detailed in the Stallingborough site safety instruction SHEI-2C-6
* Satisfy the requirements of the role under Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment (LOLER) as detailed in the Stallingborough site safety procedure SHEP-217.
Qualifications/Skills
Function Specific:
Demonstrable experience of leading a team
Ability to understand and interpret business data reports
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Planning software experience, MS Project, Office, Lotus Notes and SAP PM.
Knowledge/ understanding of purchasing / procurement practices and working with supply vendors.
Business/Industry Specific:
Min. 5 years’ experience in a responsible engineering or production role on chemical process plants
